Time fies when your having fun

Hard to Believe (actually not) that I didn't back to this after I started it. Well that just goes to show you where the road of good intentions is headed. The girls are now 15 mos and 5 yrs 2 mos and still growing like weeds. I've dealt with a lot of family issues relating to my parents relative health which has taken me away from my immediate family for all the holidays these past several months except Christmas. It has been a trying time learning my role in this "sandwich generation" as it is called. I guess with my folks being further away (2 hrs by plane) that I (and all of my siblings) kind of took their health and age for granted (IE they would live on forever with out complications or changes). But we have weathered the worst of it for now.

K, my 5 yr old is the Star of the Week at her preschool this week.

Today's as good a day as any...

to start a blog. I thought it would be interesting to have a blog for the following reasons:

  • I could chronicle the adventures of being a stay-at-home Dad with two Girls and be able to share it with anyone interested (especially my wife who travels and and works long hours)
  • I could have an outlet for random thoughts, rants, and observations
  • I enjoy reading other peoples blogs on subjects I'm interested in
  • and the best reason of all is I've always told myself to just do it (about a number of things, more later) so now I am.

So welcome to BisonDaddy a name derived from two of my many interests but some of the most important: A reference to my Alma Mater - Bucknell and the Bison Club (Sports Fund Raising Arm of the university of which I'm a board member) and my most important job: being the primary care provider for our two daughters 8 month old C and 4.5 yr old K.

I don't know the frequency of my postings yet but I've got to end this one now as I need to go play monster tag with my daughter K.
